Congratulations are in order for 3 of our students who were selected to attend Governor’s School this coming summer. Those students are Joseph Kim (Flute), Aaron Zhang (Trombone), and Matthew Moravec (Tenor Saxophone). Seven students were selected in all of the various areas from Providence. We are very proud that 3 of them are our students!

Congratulations to the Winter Guard on finishing 13th at the WGI Southeastern Championship in Orlando.

Congratulations to our 4 students who earned a spot in the 2014 NC All-State Band. They are John Martin (Clarinet, 11-12 Band), Adam Caldwell (Euphonium, 11-12 Band), Joseph Kim (Flute, 9-10 Band), Aaron Zhang (Trombone 9-10 Band).

Congratulation to our Winter Guard on earning a spot in finals at the WGI-Charlotte Regional Championship.

Attention all new and returning marching band members! The Summer Rehearsal Schedule for the 2014 Pride of Providence Marching Bandis now available. Our Information Session will be on April 22 at 6:30 in the band room. At this meeting we will present the full performance and rehearsal schedule as well as any other important information. Please go ahead and mark your calendars and make plans to attend.

Congratulations to Danny Fischbeck, Jake Rosewater, Sagar Shetty, and Lexie Wyland for earning spots in the NC Western Regional Orchestra.

Congratulations to Adam Caldwell, Dylan Cohen, John Martin, and Lexie Wyland on being selected for the University of South Carolina Honor Band.

Congratulations to Emma Nussman and Seth Trump on earning a spot in the UNC-Greensboro Honor Band.

Congratulations to the new inductees into Tri-M Music Honor Society from the PHS Bands for 2013-2014.

Our Wind Ensemble has been invited to perform at the NC Music Educators Conference in November.  This prestigious performance opportunity will be just the 2nd time in the 25 year history of Providence High School that a band has been asked to performed.   The first occurred in 2003.  Our ensemble is one of just three high schools in the state of North Carolina to receive the invitation for this coming year.

Thanks to the work of Mr. Lattimore, the band trailer has had some much needed repairs completed and this beautiful new wrap put on it to fix the fading that was occurring on the trailer. When you see the trailer in person, you will also note the subtle music staff that is designed into the new look as well.
