Below is a note from our Director of Bands to the students and parents of

Providence High School:

Dear Band Families,

Congratulations on another successful Providence Cup in the books! This event is not possible without tremendous family and community support. THANK YOU for giving your time, talents, and donations!

A special thank you also goes out to the team of parents who spent countless hours before, during, and after the event serving on different committees. If you know any of these folks, be sure to thank them, and ask them about how rewarding it is to volunteer on a committee!

By volunteering, YOU create our future and decide our successes.

Let me share some statistics so you can get a better idea of how important Prov Cup is:

  • 15 marching bands traveled from around North and South Carolina to perform.
  • In total, 880 performers took the field for competition.
  • We had 88 student volunteers, over 100 parent volunteers, and over 40 community volunteers.
  • We utilized 14 trailers, each towed by a truck, golf cart, tractor, or UTV.
  • Over 900 admission tickets were sold.
  • Over 2,000 people visited our campus, many of them for the first time.
  • Prov Cup is, by far, our program’s largest fundraiser. All profit from the event will go directly back to the Band program to fund needs like instrument purchases/repairs, new music, supplies, and technology.

We are the ONLY school in CMS that hosts a marching band competition — it's kind of a big deal!

Thank you again to all of our volunteers!

Best,

Ms. Kilroy
